President Tinubu Congratulates Winners Of FCT Polls, Rivers, Kano By-Elections

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the winners of Saturday’s elections in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and the by-elections in Kano and Rivers states.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu encouraged those elected to serve with humility, dedication, and patriotism, reminding them that the mandate given by the people is a responsibility to be taken seriously.

“He commends the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for his remarkable achievements in the territory, which have yielded political dividends to the governing All Progressives Congress (APC).

“The President congratulates the APC national leadership, Kano and Rivers leaderships, and all members of the party on the victories at the polls,” the statement added.

The President commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, and voters for ensuring the elections were peaceful and orderly.

He highlighted the courage and discipline of all contestants, emphasizing that active participation strengthens democracy.

Tinubu also urged INEC to continue improving its processes to make future elections even more effective.

The elections in the FCT covered chairmanship and councillorship positions across all six area councils.

By-elections were held in Rivers State’s Ahoada East II and Khana II constituencies, and in Kano State’s Kano Municipal and Ungogo constituencies.

INEC declared APC candidates winners in the Abuja Municipal Area Council, Kwali, and Bwari Area Councils.

Mohammed Kasim of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won the Gwagwalada Area Council election with 22,165 votes, defeating APC’s Yahaya Shehu, who received 17,788 votes.

KanyiDaily recalls that President Bola Tinubu previously called for peaceful and orderly conduct during Saturday’s elections in the FCT, Kano State, and Rivers State.
