Ireti Doyle Reveals Why She Refused To Speak On Her Divorce From Patrick

Nollywood actress Ireti Doyle has revealed why she refused to speak publicly about her failed marriage to colleagues Patrick Doyle.

The two movie stars got married in 2004 and officially ended their marriage in early 2023.

Despite going their separate ways, they have continued to work together professionally without drama.

Patrick later remarried in 2022, tying the knot with Olufunmilayo, and confirmed the relationship publicly in March 2023.

Speaking during an appearance on The Morayo Show, Ireti made it clear that her silence was intentional.

The 58-year-old actress said the details of her divorce were private and not something she believed should be discussed openly.

According to her, the only people she felt responsible to were close family members and friends who were part of their journey from the beginning.

First of all you did not hear anything because it was none of your business. Two people come together and decided to get married. There is a celebration,” she said.

“If you do it right you have a few friends and family around you and you carry on with life.

“Sadly or unfortunately, something goes wrong, you can no longer continue on the journey to life together.

“The only people you owe explanation to only if at all, are those family and friends that gathered on Day one. You see this larger audience that you are performing for they do not care.”

Ireti Doylefurther spoke about avoiding the temptation to share sensitive issues online just to attract attention.

The actress stressed that putting personal pain on display for clicks does more harm than good.

She said, “And God forbid, I personally, knowingly, give myself up for click bait. Why are you bleeding all over the internet. You are not going to win. Who are you explaining your to?”

“The end of any relationship is painful. Whatever the circumstances. I am not apportioning blame.

“Sit down and understand what went wrong for the sole purpose of not making the same mistakes again.”

KanyiDaily recalls that Patrick Doyle revealed that he harbors no hard feelings towards Ireti Doyle despite their split.
