In a video shared on social media, the singer said he struggles to put out new songs because of the situation in the country.
According to him, the constant reports of violence and hardship make it hard for him to focus on music.
He said he wakes up every day to disturbing news, which makes him hesitate whenever he plans to release something.
Mr Real questioned how other artists are able to keep dropping songs and carrying on as if everything is normal.
The singer also criticised the general attitude of many Nigerians, saying people seem to have adjusted to the crisis instead of reacting to it.
He said, “I wake up to terrible news everyday. I am even scared to drop songs because of the terrible things happening in Nigeria. Artists who are releasing songs are trying because I don’t know the kind of mind they have. How do some artists do it?
“This country is burning. People are dying. Some individuals have turned insecurity to business and we still go to club. That is the problem.
“You can argue that you have your own life to life. I also can’t deny that I don’t club or enjoy my life. But can’t you see that it is not normal? It is like we are under a spell to be docile no matter how worse things get. Is it normal?”
