Cubana Chief Priest, whose real name is Pascal Okechukwu, had earlier announced plans to fully enter politics under the APC.
His decision attracted widespread reactions both in the South-East and across social media.
The businessman, who also leads the South-East City Boy Movement, had obtained the party’s nomination and expression of interest forms to contest the seat.
He said his goal was to support youth development and improve grassroots engagement in the region.
However, his political ambition drew mixed opinions.
While some supporters pointed to his popularity and charitable efforts, others questioned whether he had enough political experience for the role.
During the APC primary held as part of preparations for the 2027 elections, he failed to win the party’s ticket.
As of the time of filing this report, the full results of the vote and the name of the winning candidate had not yet been officially announced.
