“Tinubu Has Already Won 2027 Election” – Uzodimma Tells Opposition Parties

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma said on Saturday that President Bola Tinubu has done enough in office to deserve another term.

He made the remarks while speaking with journalists after taking part in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary in his Omuma ward, located in Oru East Local Government Area.

Uzodimma, who challenged opposition parties to step up their efforts ahead of the 2027 elections, urged them to adopt the kind of grassroots mobilisation strategy used by the ruling APC.

According to him, the party’s use of electronic registration and membership verification has helped boost participation at the grassroots level and placed the APC in a strong position for future elections.

“Well, it is no longer democracy if there is no opposition. I also encourage opposition parties to work hard and do what the ruling party has done. And when, by the grace of God, it becomes their turn, they will elect their own president,” he said.

The governor pointed to the large turnout during the exercise as proof that Nigerians are still committed to democracy.

He revealed that more than 35,000 party members were registered in just one ward in Oru East, which he said shows growing support for the APC and Tinubu’s leadership.

Uzodimma argued that if all registered party members vote, the President would already have a clear path to victory.

“If you look at what is happening at the grassroots and how the grassroots has been stimulated, starting from the membership registration, which was done electronically to the validation of members, you can see 35,000 human beings in just one ward in Oru East Local Government Area.

“It means that if only our party members vote for President Bola Tinubu, he has already won the election,” he said.

He went on to commend Nigerians for sustaining democratic governance and praised Tinubu for what he described as efforts to strengthen democratic processes in the country.

He also thanked members of his ward for coming out in large numbers to show support for the President’s second-term ambition.

“I am particularly delighted that democracy is working in Nigeria. I can score democracy up to 90 per cent in Nigeria and up to 100 per cent in Imo State,” Uzodimma added.

The governor voiced confidence in the nation’s economic direction, saying the President’s policies will eventually lead to better living conditions for Nigerians and reduce poverty.

“Nigerians are excited and happy that President Bola Tinubu has done well. The outcome of his various policies has brought prosperity to Nigeria. Going forward, Nigeria shall see poverty no more,” he stated.

KanyiDaily recalls that President Bola Tinubu said he is not scared of the opposition party, as the 2027 elections approach.
