Nollywood actress Bimbo Akintola has explained why she decided to publicly back President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election.
Speaking during an interview with Chude, the actress said she became frustrated by the online attacks directed at Nigerians because of their political affiliations and choices.
Akintola noted that the criticism faced by veteran actress Joke Silva for expressing support for Tinubu also played a role in her decision to openly identify with the APC presidential candidate.
According to her, the hostility and bullying surrounding political opinions pushed her to make her position known publicly.
“I supported President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the last election because Nigerians annoyed me with their bullying,” Akintola stated.
