PHCN has a Nigerian Electricity Regulatatory Commision (NERC), i.e. they are the ones supposed to put PHCN in check. In other countries, they call people to carpet over power outages and unjust tariff increases. NERC have recently raised their profile by jumping on the Twitter bandwagon (I hope this in not another million naira scandal) and have asked that you tweet your questions and comments about them. One of their first tweets was a (dead) link to the new tarrifs that will hit the country June 1. Ok na…i will personally be monitoring this twitter handle daily cos this is definately gonna be fun….
