Kano State deputy Governor, Nasiru Gawuna and the State Commissioner for Local Government, Alhaji Sule Garo, have been arrested by the states Police Command for allegedly attempting to disrupt collation of election result and public peace.
The two were arrested around 2:00 am at the Nasarawa Local Government area Collation Centre allegedly trying to disrupt the Collation of results of the Governorship Elections.
The chairman of Nasarawa local government, Alhaji Lamin Sani was also arrested by the police.
Their arrest also saved them from being manhandled by supporters of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who were at the Centre.
The incident is said to be responsible for the delay in releasing the final tally of the Kano State governorship race which is likely to decide the winner of the elections.
