Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday, while addressing the 3,000 beneficiaries of the TraderMoni loan scheme in Keffi Market, Nasarawa State, stated that every Nigerian deserved to be very rich.
Osinbanjo reassured Nigerians that the federal government will expand its current Market Moni/Trader Moni interest-free loan scheme to cover more rural dwellers.
According to him, the idea for the extension of the Market Moni/Trader Moni to all the states of the federation is to make sure that the empowerment initiative of the present administration achieves the intended objective.
“We want to assure you that we are going to do more as President Muhammadu Buhari has directed us to expand the scheme so that those who have not benefited from the trader money and market will also benefit,” he said.
He appealed to beneficiaries of the loan programme to ensure that they pay back in order to pave way for other persons to also benefit from the programme.
“It is very important to pay back the money so that the scheme will work effectively,” Osinbajo said.
The Vice-President, who was accompanied by Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, stated that every Nigerian has the right to be rich.
“Every Nigerian has the right to be rich and even very rich,” the vice president says.
He disclosed that President Mohammadu Buhari has directed that more funds should be committed to the scheme and that the period of disbursement should be extended. He continued:
“We want to assure you that we are going to do more, as President Mohammadu Buhari has directed us to the scheme so that those who have not benefited from the TraderMoni and MarketMoni will also benefit.
