“Only 3% Of Our Staff Are Corrupt” – EFCC Admits Members Of Commission Are Compromised

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has admitted that the agency is compromised, but only three per cent it’s official are corrupt.

The EFCC’s head of the northeast zonal office in Gombe, Michael Wetkas disclosed this on Thursday, 29th August 2019, during a town hall stakeholders meeting organised by the commission in Gombe State.

He agreed that there are corrupt members of the commission but he said the number of corrupt members was exaggerated. Wetkas said:

“It is unfortunate the figure that is attached to corrupt officers in the commission.

“There are about 3 per cent of our men that are corrupt.”

“We are not happy seeing people go to jail. But that is what we have signed to do,” he added.
