A man has reportedly been eaten a crocodile after disobeying the lockdown order by the government to curtail the spread of the dreaded coronavirus disease in Rwanda.

According to BBC, the unnamed man went fishing on Wednesday in the Nyabarongo River when the fatal incident happened.

“He had broken the stay-home rule, he’s among very few people here who are not cooperating with the lockdown to stop the [corona]virus,” Alice Kayitesi, the mayor of the southern Kamonyi district told the BBC.

KanyiDaily had reported earlier that Rwandan police shot and killed two men in their twenties who also disobeyed the lockdown orders.

Rwanda, which currently has 41 confirmed COVID-19 cases, has been on a two-week lockdown since March 21 as a preventive measure against the spread of the novel coronavirus.
