The leader of the dreaded Boko Haram terrorist, Abubakar Shekau has condemned the death sentence handed to a Kano-based musician, Yahaya Sharif-Aminu, over one of his songs alleged to be blasphemous against Prophet Muhammad.
In a new audio, Shekau berated the ruling which sentenced the musician the death, noting that there is no difference between the accused and those who sentenced him to death.
“There is no difference between the ‘blasphemer’ and those who sentenced him to death,” Shekau said.
KanyiDaily had reported two days ago that a Sharia Court in Kano State found Sharif-Aminu guilty of blasphemy for releasing a song insulting the Holy Prophet Muhammad.
Mr Sharif-Aminu did not deny the charges leveled against him and the presiding judge, Khadi Aliyu Muhammad Kani, sentenced him to death by hanging.
