Anambra Man Murders His Two Kids, His Mom And Leaves His 3 Other Children In Critical Condition

Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 47-year-old man, Emeka Ezimadu, for allegedly killing two of his kids, his 85-year-old mother, and inflicting injuries on his three other children at Okpuneze Uruagu in Nnewi North local government area of the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Haruna Mohammed, who disclosed this on Friday, said the incident happened in Nnewi on Thursday night.

According to him, the suspect allegedly went berserk and killed two of his biological children, and his 85-year-old mother, with a cutlass while they were sleeping.

Mohammed said the suspect also used the cutlass to injure his three other children who are currently in critical condition at a hospital in the area.

“On Thursday at 11.55pm, police operatives attached to Nnewi Division arrested one Emeka Ezimadu, 47, of Okpuneze Uruagu in Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

“The suspect allegedly ran amok in a circumstance yet-to-be ascertained; attacked and killed two of his biological children namely Ifechukwu Ezimadu, 9, Mmeso Ezimadu, two years, and his own mother one Agnes Ezimadu, 85, of the same address allegedly with a cutlass while they were sleeping.

“The suspect equally used the same weapon and injured his three other children namely Nonso Ezimadu, 12, Chinaemerem Ezimadu, one, and Ngozi Ezimadu eight.”

Mohammed said detectives visited the scene and rushed the victims to the Akwudo hospital, where the two children and their aged grandmother were confirmed dead by a medical doctor.

The PPRO said the victims’ corpses had been deposited at the hospital’s morgue for autopsy, adding that the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Awka, for discreet investigation.
