The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested a young lady, Precious Iwuji for allegedly selling her photographs and Facebook account to internet fraudsters in the Sabo area of Kaduna State.
EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren said preliminary investigation revealed the suspect engaged in impersonation by selling her photos and Facebook account to internet fraudsters who used them to defraud unsuspecting victims.
The anti-graft agency also arrested one Lucky Ebhogie and his mother, Margaret Sylvester, over alleged Internet-related fraud in the Sabo area of Kaduna.
Lucky Ebhogie allegedly recruited his mother into the scam by using her account to launder suspected proceeds of crime.
On July 30, 2021, the young man purchased a Mercedes Benz GLK car for N7 million through the mother’s bank account.
The EFCC Spokesman added that the mother and her son arrested alongside Precious Iwuji will soon be charged to court for their alleged involvement in cyber fraud.
