Nnamdi Kanu Orders Suspension Of IPOB Monday Sit-At-Home In South East

Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has ordered the suspension of the sit-at-home order scheduled to hold every Monday in the South-East.

KanyiDaily recalls that IPOB had issued a sit-at-home order in the South-East every Monday as part of its ways of protesting the detention of Nnamdi Kanu by the federal government.

The proscribed group said that the lockdown tagged ‘Ghost Monday’ will also affect all schools, marketplaces, and other economic activities in the region.

Nnamdi Kanu Suspend IPOB Sit-At-Home Order

However, IPOB in a radio program on Friday, the group’s Head of the Directorate Chika Edoziem announced that Kanu has suspended the weekly sit-at-home order.

“There has been some discussion whether we must continue our ghost town in Biafra land. I wish to announce this very (Friday) evening that as directed by the highest command of this movement, our Monday ghost town or sit-at-home in Biafra land stands suspended,” he said.

“The weekly sit-at-home in Biafra land stands suspended for now. That means in the coming Monday there would be no sit-at-home in Biafra land.

IPOB Gives New Sit-At-Home Order

IPOB said the sit-at-home order would be given whenever Nnamdi Kanu made an appearance in court and not every Monday as earlier directed.

“Our sit-at-home will be on each court date when our leader will be appearing in court. Before then, we will make that information. Our sit-at-home will be taking place in the next court appearance of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

“We must revert our attention to the trial of our leader that is coming up,” he said.

KanyiDaily recalls that IPOB had claimed that its sit-at-home directive last Monday was 100 percent successful throughout the South-East.
