Osun State Governor-elect, Ademola Adeleke has received his certificate of return by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday.
KanyiDaily had reported how Adeleke, the governorship candidate of the PDP, was declared the winner of the Osun election on Sunday morning, July 17, 2020.
Adeleke secured 403,371 votes to defeat Governor Gboyega Oyetola, his closest challenger, who polled 375,027 votes on the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform.
He was issued the certificate of return in Oshogbo on Wednesday, July 20, by the INEC National Commissioner, Supervising Osun, Ogun, and Oyo states, Prof. Kunle Ajayi.
The deputy governor-elect, Prince Kola Adewusi also received his at the ceremony.
In his acceptance speech at the Osun INEC head office in Osogbo, Adeleke dedicated his victory to the memory of his late elder brother, Senator Isiaka Adeleke, and the people of the Osun state.
