Peter Obi Meet PDP Governors

Although details of the meeting is yet to be made public as of the time of filing this report, it was learnt that it was part of negotiations ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

Those in the meeting include the Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State; Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom; Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde and Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State.

Others PDP members present at the meeting include former Cross River State Governor, Donald Duke and Senator Olaka Nwogu.

The PDP has been embroiled in crisis since the conclusion of its presidential primary election in May after Wike lost to the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and subsequent picking of Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa as running mate.

This comes a few days after reports emerged that Nyesom Wike held a meeting with the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu in Paris, France.
