Northerners Need Someone Like Me, Not Yoruba Or Igbo Candidate – Atiku [Video]

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has revealed why his fellow Northerners should vote for him in the 2023 general election.

Atiku Plays ‘Ethnic Card’

Speaking on Saturday at the interactive session of the Arewa townhall policy dialogue in Kaduna, Atiku said he has transversed the entire country and understands their peculiarities and diversities.

According to him, a significant percentage of persons of Hausa and Fulani extraction don’t need an Igbo or Yoruba as president but “someone from the north”.

Atiku made the remarks while responding to a question by the spokesman of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, who asked him why Northerners should vote for him.

The PDP presidential candidate replied, “I have traversed the whole of this country, I know the whole of the country, I have built bridges across the country”

“What the average Northerner needs is somebody who’s from the north and also understands that part of the country and has been able to build bridges across the country.

This is what the Northerner needs, it doesn’t need a Yoruba or Igbo candidate, I stand before you as a Pan-Nigerian of northern origin.”
