President Muhammadu Buhari has summoned an emergency meeting with security chiefs after some countries issued alerts on the likelihood of attacks in parts of Nigeria.
In a post on his Twitter page, the special assistant to the president on digital communications, Bashir Ahmad, said Buhari will hold an emergency meeting with security chiefs on Monday.
According to him, the meeting, which will hold today in Abuja, is part of the efforts to review and strengthen the security network in the country
“President @MBuhari has summoned an emergency security meeting tomorrow in the nation’s capital, Abuja, to further review and strengthen the security network in the country,” the post reads.
“The meeting will be attended by the Defence Minister, service chiefs and other heads of security agencies,” the tweet reads.
KanyiDaily recalls that the United States, United Kingdom, and other foreign missions had issued travel advisories to their citizens in Nigeria, warning them to avoid non-essential trips to Abuja over possible terrorist attacks.
