The miscreants have also set some shops ablaze while demanding for the release of the leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.
Major markets in Aba are on lockdown including the popular Shopping center (Ekeoha market), Ariaria market and cemetery market.
The rampaging youths have currently barricaded the Ariaria junction en route Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway and also the popular Obohia road.
Recall that few days ago, The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja set Nnamdi Kanu, free of the treasonable felony charges preferred against him by the Federal Government.
The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami while reacting to the news said the appeal court only discharged Kanu and did not acquit him.
Malami said the appellate court only decided a single issue that borders on rendition, noting that Kanu has other pre-rendition cases to answer.
He insisted that issues that predated Kanu’s rendition from Kenya, are yet to be determined by the court, stressing that the government would exploit the appropriate legal options and also communicate same to the public.
This is breaking news, more details will be added as soon as it’s available.
