Nigerian singer, Iyanya has taken to social media to recount how he struggled in his music career last year before God chanced his fortune for the better this year.
In a post shared on his Twitter page, the singer said he only had three shows last December, two of which were free because he begged to perform just to be seen out there.
Iyanya noted that he now wakes up to credit alerts for show performances every day, adding that he has been booked for more than 20 shows already this month.
He also appreciated his fans and everyone supporting his music, promising that he won’t let them down in 2023.
The singer wrote, “Last year December 2021, I performed at three shows, one paid and I begged to perform at two just to be seen.
“2022 December, I woke up every day to alerts for shows. I haven’t had this kind of busy December since 2017. 20+ shows in one month. God Thank you.
“And to my fans and everyone who streamed my music this year, God Bless you. There’s got to be more and I promise 2023 will be a better year for everyone who has supported me this year. We will definitely have a great 2023.”
He also specially sent a shout-out to Davido, who featured alongside Kizz Daniel in his 2022 hit single ‘Like’, he wrote, “Special Appreciation to @davido Thank you for the push this year.”
KanyiDaily recalls that Iyanya had recently lamented that there are many fake people in the Nigerian music industry.
