An Ikwuano High Court built by Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has been set ablaze by some yet-to-be-identified people.

Ikwuano High Court Razed

The Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of the State, Chief Uche Ihediwa, SAN, who disclosed this in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer in the Ministry, Anyim Agbai.

Ihediwa, who described the arson as an act of cowardice, called on the security agencies in the state to bring to book those responsible for the attack.

The commissioner said he and his team paid an unscheduled inspection to the area to ascertain the level of destruction.

He expressed shock over the destruction of the court building, saying it was the handiwork of enemies of the state.

The commissioner expressed regret that people could get themselves involved in such act.

Ihediwa wondered why a court building built to resolve disputes among people in the rural area would be burnt by reasonable individuals as he stressed that burning the court would adversely affect the people’s quest for justice as they would henceforth travel to Umuahia for their cases.

He challenged the security agencies in the area to ensure they unveiled those behind the act.

KanyiDaily had also reported how suspected arsonists set ablaze a Magistrate Court and other buildings housing several offices on the premises of the secretariat of Idemili Local Government Area in Ogidi, a town in Anambra State.
