Nigerian filmmaker and founder of the African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), Peace Anyiam-Osigwe is dead.

Anyiam-Osigwe died in Lagos, according to reports.

The deceased, who was also the President of the Association of Movie Producers was reportedly in a coma before she breathed her last.

Her death was confirmed by her colleague, Obi Emelonye, via his Instagram account on Tuesday.

He shared her picture and wrote, “Thank you and good night dada Peace. 🕯🕯🕯🕯”

Anyiam-Osigwe was born on March 30. She was from the notable Osigwe Anyiam-Osigwe family in Nkwerre, Imo State.

Reports say she was the only girl in a family of eight children. She had a degree in Law and political science from Oxford Brookes University.
