‘Fake News, We Did Not Raid Tinubu’s Home, Recovered N400bn’ – EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has denied a report on social media that it raided the home of Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and recovered the sum of N400 billion.

EFCC Denies Raiding Tinubu’s Home

EFCC disclosed this in a short statement issued on Sunday evening by its Spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren.

The EFCC statement said no such operation was carried out by the anti-graft agency.

It enjoined the public to disregard the report as fake news.

The short statement reads, “The attention of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has been drawn to a report circulating in the social media, claiming that operatives of the Commission raided the home Of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, standard-bearer of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the forthcoming presidential elections and recovered a humongous sum of N400billion.

“The Commission wishes to state that no such operation was carried out by the EFCC. The public is enjoined to disregard the report as fake news.”

In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that Moses Jolayemi, a chieftain of the Labour Party (LP) cum presidential campaign coordinator of the Obi/Datti ticket in Ekiti has expressed optimism that the standard bearer of the party, Peter Obi will win the presidential election of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) is not compromised.
