KanyiDaily recalls that Akindele and her principal, Abdul-Azeez Adediran aka Jandor, who contested under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) were defeated in the just concluded Lagos governorship election.
Jandor and Funke, who were the governorship and deputy governorship candidates of the party, were defeated by the incumbent governo, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was declared winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday.
Sanwo-Olu polled 762,134 votes while the Labour Party’s Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour got 312,329 votes and Jandor came a distance third with 62,449 votes.
