Veteran Nollywood Actor, Fadeyi Oloro Is Dead

Veteran Nollywood actor, Ojo Arowosafe, popularly known as Fadeyi Oloro, has died at the age of 66.

It was gathered that the Ekiti State-born actor died on Tuesday evening, March 7, 2023, after a long battle with a kidney-related ailment.

Fadeyi Oloro’s daughter, Fasunwon Bidemi Oluwafunke, confirmed the news when Premium Times called her on Tuesday night but declined to share additional details.

Actor and comedian, Bayegun Oluwatoyin, better known as Woli Arole, also confirmed Oloro’s death in a post shared on his Instagram page yesterday night.

“So happy I reached out to you sir, so happy we played our part, so happy we laughed together, so happy we were able to show our support. Rest in Peace the Legend ‘Fadeyi Oloro’.

“Let’s check up on people when dey (they) are alive, Let’s show love when people can feel. Let’s help when it can be seen,” he wrote.

Born September 15, 1957, Fadeyi Oloro rose to prominence during the 80s and late 90s for his trademarked herbalist character.

The Yoruba actor had last month, through his son on an Instagram live session with popular OAP, Daddy Freeze, begged Nigerians for help after he was served a six-month eviction notice over unpaid rent.

Subsequently, a UK-based Nigerian pastor, Tobi Adegboyega, of Salvation Proclaimers Anointed Church, donated N3million for Arowosafe’s treatment and other outstanding bills.

Fadeyi Oloro was born in Igbara Odo, present-day Ekiti State, and became a household name during the cinematic era for his antagonistic roles in Yoruba movies accompanied by his ever-vibrant recitation of chants and incantations.

KanyiDaily recalls that in 2013, Osun Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s convoy crushed Fadeyi Oloro after a political rally, leaving him seriously injured and hospitalized.
