FCMB Founder, Otunba Subomi Balogun Dies In London

Otunba Subomi Balogun, the founder and chairman of First City Monument Bank (FCMB), has passed away.

Otunba Subomi Balogun, who is the Olori Omoba of Ijebuland, reportedly breathed his last in a London hospital on Friday morning, May 19, 2023.

Balogun had recently celebrated his 89th birthday on March 9, marking another milestone in a remarkable life dedicated to business and philanthropy.

His contributions to the financial sector have left a lasting impact.

As news of his passing circulates, tributes and condolences pour in from all corners, honoring the legacy of Otunba Michael Olasubomi Balogun, a visionary leader who played a significant role in the establishment and growth of FCMB.

Taking to his Instagram page, media mogul, Dele Momodu wrote: “Diamonds are forever OVATION INTERNATIONAL magazine (since 1996)… Good night CHIEF OLASUMOMI BALOGUN… Rest in Peace Sir.”

KanyiDaily had also reported how Nollywood actor, Chikezie Uwazie died in the United States of America after a second brain surgery.
