Hilda Baci finally breaks silence on how she broke the Guinness Record

Hilda Effiong Bassey, popularly known as Hilda Baci, a Nigerian chef, has confessed that she had no idea she could sit while cooking to break the Guinness World Record.

Hilda, who finished a 100-hour cooking marathon on Monday in her bid to become the Guinness World Records holder for the ‘greatest cooking duration’ by one individual, revealed this in an interview on Friday.

The Akwa Ibom State native claimed she stood for 100 hours while cooking because the winner of the challenge did not sit.

“I had no idea I could sit while cooking.” I didn’t realise I could till after I finished the task.

“One of the reasons I was intentional about filming the entire process was because when I decided to attempt the challenge, I only found three videos online.”

“One of the reasons I didn’t realise I could sit despite the fact that Guinness didn’t ask me to stand was that when I watched the previous chef’s videos, she was standing.”

“I discovered a clip of her sitting only after the attempt.” Perhaps no one thought it was feasible to stand for 100 hours cooking before now, but the fact that it has been done proves it is conceivable and doable.”
