BBNaija Reunion: I Defied My Family After They Kicked Against My Relationship With Sheggz – Bella

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Bella Okagbue has opened up about defying her family’s disapproval of her relationship with her colleague, Sheggz.

During the BBNaija reunion show on Wednesday night, Bella Okagbue revealed that she was scolded by her family over her relationship with Sheggz in the house, and advised to focus on her brand.

She disclosed that her family, with their traditional values, does not approve of actions like kissing displayed on the show and she was expected to embody the image of a proper and virtuous girl according to their upbringing.

Bellsa said that when she initially left the house, she believed that Sheggz was not genuinely interested in her due to her family’s disapproval, but she remained steadfast in her feelings for him and trusted in the connection they shared until her family eventually came around and reconciled with her.

The reality star acknowledged that she was advised against continuing the relationship based on external opinions, but she ultimately made the decision to stay with Sheggz, and their relationship remains intact.

Bella Okagbue said, “From the family I am from, all those things like kissing I did on the show is not allowed. I am meant to be a proper good girl.

“I was briefed to focus on my brand as soon as I got out of the house. I thought Sheggz didn’t really like me because I had no idea why my family said so.

“At that point, I had no doubt about what we shared; I knew what I felt for him and he knew what he felt for me.

“After the first day of the interview, I decided to leave things as they were. I came out of the house and my family were saying I lost my home training because I was following man and kissing in the house.

“They are my family, they can’t throw me away. After a few days, they came around and everything was fine.

“I was told not to do the relationship based on what was out there. But at the end of the day, it was my decision and we are still in a relationship.”
