Former Kaduna Senator, Shehu Sani has hailed the sacking of Nigeria’s Service Chiefs by President Bola Tinubu.

Tinubu on Monday night retired the former Service Chiefs, the Inspector General of Police, and the comptroller General of Customs.

After retiring them, the president thereafter, appointed new Service Chiefs and the Inspector General of Police.

The decision was a measure aimed at repositioning Nigeria’s security architectures to battle insecurity in the country.

The new Service Chiefs are Maj. Gen. C.G Musa, Chief of Defence Staff; Maj. Gen. T. A Lagbaja, Chief of Army Staff; Rear Admiral E. A Ogalla, Chief of Naval Staff; AVM H.B Abubakar, Chief of Air Staff; DIG Kayode Egbetokun, Acting Inspector-General of Police and Maj. Gen. EPA Undiandeye, Chief of Defense Intelligence.

Taking to his official Twitter handle, Shehu Sani noted that retiring the service chiefs was a welcome development, describing it as “Good riddance.”

According to him, the service chiefs “belong to the old decadent order”, adding that when the “head is gone, so should the tail,” which was directed at the immediate past president, Muhammadu Buhari, whose eight-year tenure ended on May 29, 2023.

Meanwhile, Kanyi Daily earlier reported the profiles of the country’s new service chiefs.
