Top Anambra business man cum politician, Senator Clement Annie Okonkwo is dead.


Okonkwo, who celebrated his 63 years birthday on 23 May 2023, gave up the ghost on Wednesday.

The former senator was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2007 to represent the Anambra Central Senatorial Zone in Anambra State.

The former senator died after a long battle with a Terminal Illness.

Family sources revealed that he was “recuperating after undergoing medical procedures in the United States of America but he reportedly relapsed a few days ago”

His son, Uchenna Harris Okonkwo, is the House of Representatives Member-Elect for Idemili North and Idemili South Federal Constituencies, Anambra State.

As a businessman, Annie employed over 7000 people in his companies which include the defunct Reliance Telecomm, Clemco Industries, Modern Communications (satellite TV Network), MacClemm Marketing Communications, Sunflower Nigeria and Pentagon Oil.

Funeral Arrangements will be announced by the family in the coming days.
