Tinubu Meets Ex-CBN Gov, Sanusi Lamido At State House

President Bola Tinubu met with the 14th Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi at the State House, Abuja on Thursday.

Sanusi, who is also a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), was said to have arrived at the villa some minutes past 5:00 pm.

It is not clear what the agenda of the meeting was.

It is the first time both men are meeting since Tinubu was inaugurated as Nigeria’s president on May 29.

Sanusi has also been away from the limelight since he was dethroned as the Emir of Kano by the immediate past Governor of the State, Abdullahi Ganduje in 2020. However, he made an appearance at the recent inauguration of the Abia State governor, Alex Otti on May 29th. Reports say both men are friends.

Sanusi’s visit comes barely a week after the president suspended the Governor of the apex bank, Godwin Emefiele.

Meanwhile, Kanyi Daily reported that the Department of State Services (DSS) arrested Emefiele for “some investigative reasons.”
