English-French singer and actress, Jane Birkin is dead.
According to Daily Mail, Jane died at age 76 by her carer at her home in France.
The cause of her death is not yet known, although she was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2002 following many torrid, youthful years of excesses.
Reports say she suffered a stroke in 2021 and was forced to cancel several concerts that year. She also cancelled shows again last March after breaking her shoulder blade.
The iconic Hermés Birkin handbag, which came to be in 1983 was named after her.
The actress is one of Britain’s best-known Sixities sensations, known for her romantic affairs, striking looks, and fashion sense.
She is perhaps best known for the French duet Je T’aime… Moi Non Plus, which she sang with her ex Serge Gainsbourg in 1968.
