Nigeria Happened To Her – Simon Ekpa Reacts To Suicide Attempt By Farida Sobowale

Self-imposed Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government-in-Exile and Biafra agitator, Simon Ekpa, has reacted to the suicide attempt by  Nigerian socialite, Farida Sobowale on the third Mainland Bridge, Lagos.

Recall that Sobowale was on Thursday, prevented from jumping into the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos.

A video posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) which has since gone viral showed how the founder, House of Phreeda, a skincare company packed her Lexus SUV on the bridge, alighted, and was about to jump into the lagoon when some persons rescued her.

In the video, she could be seen in tears and screaming that she should be allowed to jump into the lagoon.

The video also showed the entrepreneur, who was clad in a black outfit sitting behind the booth of the SUV as commuters consoled her.

The businesswoman was said to have been taken to a police station afterward.

It is not clear the reason for her action, unconfirmed reports claim that Sobowale is having issues in her marriage.

Sharing the video on his official X handle on Friday afternoon, Simon Ekpa said Nigeria has happened to her, a common expression used to describe the country’s woes and its systemic failures.

As a result of this, most Nigerians, mostly the youths, will often say this common prayer, “May Nigeria not happen to you.” It is a heartfelt wish born out of the frustration of living in a country so dysfunctional that even wealth cannot insulate you from the wahala (troubles) of Nigeria and its systemic failures.

According to Ekpa, “Those who say Biafrans are wasting their time are dying in silence.”

Meanwhile, Kanyi Daily earlier reported that some Nigerians on X have said the suicide attempt by Nigerian socialite, Farida Sobowale on the Third Mainland Bridge, Lagos on Thursday is staged and not real.
