In a video circulating on social media, a fan was seen expressing deep admiration for Banky W when he unexpectedly introduced the musician as “the man who made Wizkid”.
In response to this statement, Banky W could be heard uttering, “Here we go again,” as he departed the scene, seemingly uninterested in receiving credit for Wizkid’s success.
It’s important to note that Wizkid signed a record deal with Bnaky’s Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E) in 2009, which marked the inception of his musical journey.
Wizkid’s breakthrough came after releasing the chart-topping single “Holla at Your Boy,” part of his debut studio album, “Superstar” (2011).
However, in 2014, he decided to leave E.M.E and establish his own record label, Starboy Entertainment, since becoming an independent artist who has achieved global acclaim on his own merit.
KanyiDaily recalls that Banky W had revealed that he was disappointed that Wizkid did not show up for his wedding to actress, Adesua Etomi, in 2017.
