KanyiDaily recalls that Mohbad died at the age of 27 under controversial circumstances on September 12, and was buried the following day in Lagos.
Following Mohbad’s death, Naira Marley and his close associate, Sam Larry, were accused of bullying and assaulting the late singer while he was alive.
Amidst the ongoing flood of accusations and speculations linking Naira Marley to Mohbad’s tragic passing, Esther Nwachukwu has chosen to defend him.
In a video shared on Instagram page, the actress claimed that Naira Marley’s only “crime” was extending help and support to Mohbad when the latter was an upcoming artist.
Esther Nwachukwu emphatically declared that Naira Marley was not responsible for Mohbad’s death and expressed her belief that Nigerians were taking things to an extreme level.
She acknowledged that Naira Marley, like any human being, had normal disagreements with Mohbad before his passing but stressed that this did not implicate him in the tragedy.
The actress also admitted that the two singers might have had their differences, which forced Mohbad to leave the record label, but also highlighted that Naira Marley played a significant role in bringing the late singer into the limelight.
Esther Nwachukwu insisted that blame should be directed towards those who recorded the singer’s lifeless body, and she even suggested the need for exhuming the already-buried corpse and conducting an autopsy.
“Naira Marley does not have a hand in what happened to Mohbad. Naira Marley did not kill him. He only had issues with him,” she said.
