Nigerian singer and rapper, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has tragically passed away at the age of 27.

The sad news was shared by music executive Ovie on his platform X, formerly known as Twitter, during the evening hours of Tuesday.

Ovie conveyed the heartbreaking announcement with the words, “Confirmed. MohBad is dead. Sad, sad day.”

Mohbad was formerly associated with Naira Marley’s “Marlian Records” but parted ways with the label in 2022.

He was widely recognized for his chart-topping singles, including “Ponmo,” “Feel Good,” and the viral hit “KPK (Ko Por Ke)” with Rexxie, which garnered three nominations at The Headies awards in 2022.

Mohbad’s untimely passing has left the music industry and fans in mourning, as they remember his contributions to the Nigerian music scene.

KanyiDaily recalls that singer, Bella Shmurda recently revealed that Mohbad went through a distressing period and attempted suicide due to his conflicts with Naira Marley’s Marlian Music.
