Cabal Must Have Hijacked My Government – Buhari

Former President Muhammadu Buhari recently stated that he believes a cabal may have taken control of his administration during the eight years he served.

Buhari made this revelation in a recent interview with the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA).

Buhari acknowledged the possibility of losing control of a cabal and expressed uncertainty about allowing anyone who violated the law to go unpunished.

When asked if losing his administration to a cabal, Buhari said, “It must have been.”

He added that he was not sure anyone who breached the law was allowed to “walk away.”

Buhari said, “God allowed me to serve my country, but I did my best. But whether my best was good enough, I leave it for people to judge.”

He said he was too preoccupied with local matters to be bothered with foreign issues as president, adding that his biggest challenge was securing the country.

Buhari mentioned that he consciously avoided competing with Nigeria’s wealthy class in acquiring assets like land, houses, and cars during his leadership.

He noted that this was the reason he was “living in peace” after exiting government.

Buhari revealed that some Nigerians tried to set a trap for him, attempting to ambush him with certain opportunities. He avoided falling into the trap, recognizing that if they perceived any compromise on his part, they would seize the chance to exploit the country.

Recall that in 2016, the former First Lady, Aisha Buhari initially raised concerns about a cabal influencing Buhari’s administration. However, her husband chose to dismiss those allegations at that time.

Kanyi Daily recalls that during the Presidential Inauguration Gala Night, Muhammadu Buhari expressed his thoughts on the challenges of leading Nigerians and he compared his experience with Nigerians to that of tending to his farm animals.
