President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday condemned the brutal attacks in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi local government areas of Plateau State where over 115 people were killed by bandits.
The gunmen invaded the local councils on Christmas Eve, resulting in the tragic deaths of at least 115 villagers and the destruction of 17 communities.
In an interview on Tuesday, State Governor Caleb Mutfwang confirmed the casualties and the scale of destruction caused by the attack, highlighting that many residents remain missing.
Tinubu responded to the attack through a statement issued by his spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, on Tuesday in Abuja.
The statement said that Tinubu has directed security agencies to immediately intervene, thoroughly search the entire zone, and apprehend the culprits.
The President also directed the immediate mobilization of relief resources for surviving victims of the attacks, along with providing medical treatment for the wounded
While extending condolences to the government and people of Plateau, the President assured Nigerians “the envoys of death, pain, and sorrow would not escape justice”.
