The party’s national organizing secretary, Suleiman Muhammed Argungu, made this revelation yesterday during an interview with journalists at his residence in Argungu, the headquarters of Argungu Emirate Council.
He emphasized that as the ruling party, the APC would set an example by complying with INEC’s directive on the deadline for the sales of forms to the aspirants.
Arungu said, “After we close the sales of forms, a committee will be set up to select the delegates that will elect the candidates for the by-elections.”
However, on January 9, 2024, the party will open the INEC portal to upload the names of its aspirants who purchased forms for the vacant positions.
Argungu stated that six aspirants from Kebbi State have acquired the forms to indicate their interest in participating in the by-elections.
He mentioned that the contest involves seven states: Kebbi, Yobe, Kaduna, Ebonyi, Lagos, Taraba, and Benue. The APC national organizing secretary urged party members to actively participate in electing delegates and their preferred candidates during the party’s primaries.
Kanyi Daily recalls that Former Deputy Speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Odefa Obasi Odefa, had defected his allegiance from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
