Newlywed Wife Allegedly Murders Husband in Niger

The Niger State Police Command has confirmed the killing of Idris Ahmadu, a resident of Nasarawa village in Lapai Local Government, by his newlywed wife, Aisha Aliyu.
This tragic incident took place in the early hours of Monday

The command, as confirmed by Minna-based Public Relations Officer DSP Wasiu Abiodun, stated that Aisha Aliyu stabbed her husband to death and disappeared from the scene

He stated, “Today 12/02/2024 (Monday), at about 1200hrs, information was received that in the early hours, one Idris Ahmadu of Nasarawa village, via Lapai was stabbed to death by his wife, Aisha Aliyu, 19/20yrs of the same address.

“Before the arrival of the police at the scene, the suspect had fled to an unknown destination; effort is being intensified to arrest the fleeing suspect.”

He revealed that the case is currently under investigation.
According to a source, the newly married couple had a minor disagreement on Sunday evening, which they resolved before retiring for the night.

The source stated that at midnight, the mother of the deceased heard him screaming. She rushed out with other residents only to discover him lying in a pool of blood on the floor, with his wife nowhere to be found

It was discovered that the couple exchanged vows on December 31, 2023, after being in a relationship for several years.
Aisha had met another man and initially decided not to marry Idris, but she was persuaded by family members. The source added that she reluctantly agreed.

Kanyi daily recalls that a 38-year-old man, Livhuwani Madadzhe, also known as comedian SABC Livhu, had been arrested for allegedly killing his wife, Lindelani Nengovhela, 33, in South Africa.
