Ghana’s High Commissioner To Nigeria, Rashid Bawa Is Dead

Ghana’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, Rashid Bawa, has passed away in Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria, on Thursday.

Rashid Bawa, who was appointed by President Nana Akufo-Addo in 2017, served as Ghana’s high commissioner to Nigeria.

Prior to this role, Bawa held prominent positions, including Ghana’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia from 2005 to 2008 and serving as a member of the Ghanaian parliament for Akan constituency from 2001 to January 2005, initially as an independent candidate.

Bawa’s demise follows closely after the recent passing of John Kumah, Ghana’s Deputy Minister for Finance and Member of Parliament for Ejisu constituency.

President Akufo-Addo praised Kumah’s dedication to public service, describing him as a politician who served the country with great zeal and dedication.

The loss of both Bawa and Kumah is mourned by the Ghanaian political community and beyond, highlighting their significant contributions to the nation’s development and welfare.

KanyiDaily recalls that the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Paul Omotosho recently passed away following a brief illness.
