Kano APC Reacts To Suspension Of Ganduje Over Alleged Corruption

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ganduje ward, Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, has suspended the party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje.

This move was announced by the APC’s legal adviser in the ward, Haladu Maigwanjo, during a press conference in Kano on Monday.

Maigwanjo cited allegations of corruption leveled against Ganduje by the Kano State Government as the reason behind his suspension from the party.

He stated that the decision to suspend Ganduje was reached following a vote of no confidence due to his failure to address various corruption allegations against him.

These allegations include the widely circulated videos purportedly showing him accepting bribes from contractors.

Maigwanjo said, “The members decided to suspend the national chairman’s membership after a vote of no confidence was passed on him due to his inability to clear his name from various allegations of corruption against him, which range from the circulated dollar videos where he was allegedly collecting bribe from contractors.”

The suspension of Ganduje from the party takes immediate effect, according to Mr. Maigwanjo.

However, in response to this development, the State Working Committee of the APC swiftly took action against the Ganduje ward executives who announced the suspension.

The state chairman of the party, Abdullahi Abbas, disclosed that the ward executives have been suspended for a period of six months due to their involvement in what he described as anti-party activities.

Abbas further stated that evidence of meetings between the state government officials and those responsible for the suspension of the National Chairman was available.

We have evidence of meetings between the State Government officials and those that suspended the National Chairman, and the state working committee has agreed to sanction them for six months and they stand suspended,” Mr Abbas said

He emphasized that the suspension declared by the ward executives is deemed invalid, null, and void, urging concerned parties not to give it any credence.

This comes nine months after Abdullahi Ganduje was appointed as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
