On April 23, Napji took to Instagram to accuse Davido of withholding payment for his work on hit songs such as “Fem,” “Jowo,” and “Sunlight” from his 2020 album “A Better Time.”
Napji alleged that he received only an advance of N500k for each song, totaling N1.5 million, and demanded royalties and publishing rights.
He tagged Davido in his post to direct his demand, promising to release more details as he seeks to collect his royalties.
Napji wrote: “I am Napji, the producer behind Fem, Jowo, and Sunlight on @davido album (A better time) which was released 13th November 2020.
“I was paid an advance of 500 thousand naira for each of the songs. I will be releasing more information as I seek to collect my royalties & publishing.”
In his response, Davido simply posted “Ur Papa” on his verified Instagram page and Twitter.
KanyiDaily recalls that Davido recently gave his wife, Chioma Rowland, a ward of cash and roses ahead of her 29th birthday.
