Tobi Amusan finished third in her semifinal with a time of 12.55 seconds, which was not fast enough to qualify as one of the fastest losers.
After missing out on the two automatic final spots, she hoped to make it through as one of the fastest non-qualifiers. However, her time was not sufficient to secure a place in the final eight.
Amusan, the world record holder in the 100m hurdles, had a strong performance in the preliminaries, winning her heat with a time of 12.49 seconds.
Unfortunately, she did not improve on that time in the semifinals.
KanyiDaily recalls that Tobi Amusan kicked off her Paris Olympics campaign with a strong win in the women’s 100m hurdles heats.
