Edo State governor-elect, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and his deputy, Hon. Denis Idahosa, were presented with their certificates of return by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The presentation was made by Prof. Rhoda Gumus, representing INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu on Thursday, September 26, 2024.

The ceremony took place at the INEC headquarters, where they were joined by notable figures including APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, National Secretary Senator Bashiru Ajibola, Minister for Niger Delta Affairs Engr. Abubakar Momoh, former Edo State governor Senator Adams Oshiomhole, and other prominent leaders.

Speaking to reporters after receiving his certificate, Okpebholo dedicated his victory to the people of Edo State, expressing his readiness to fulfill the mandate given to him.

The governor-elect acknowledged the trust placed in him and promised to deliver on his commitments.

Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the APC chairman, praised the people of Edo for bringing the APC back to power.

He highlighted the incoming governor’s experience and development plans, assuring that the state will see significant progress under Okpebholo’s leadership.

Former Edo governor, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, also voiced his excitement about the new leadership.

He emphasized that the people now have a governor who will respect traditional institutions, focus on education, and prioritize the needs of the people, unlike the outgoing administration.

Oshiomhole noted that the people of Edo have regained their state and can look forward to positive changes.
