Doris Simeon Shares Her Struggles On Custody Battle With Ex-Husband, Daniel Ademinokan

Nollywood actress, Doris Simeon has opened up about the challenges she faced during her long custody battle with her ex-husband, Daniel Ademinokan.

In a recent interview on Biola Bayo’s show “Talk to B”, Simeon shared that the experience left her feeling “frustrated and depressed,” although she kept her struggles hidden due to her strong family upbringing.

Simeon explained that her son was just 4 years old when Ademinokan took him to the United States, and since then, her ability to be involved in his life as a mother was severely limited.

She said the last time she truly cared for him as a mother was when he was only 3 years old, and efforts to stay in touch often went unanswered.

According to her, Ademinokan would sometimes ignore her calls, and when he did answer, he would quickly say he was “busy” and would end the conversation, making it hard for her to maintain a connection with her son.

Despite feeling heartbroken, Simeon said she couldn’t show her pain because of the values instilled in her by her family, who taught her to stay strong no matter what life throws at her.

She said, “I might have had my fault, he also had his fault. That’s why I said I didn’t feel anything when they got married, but the only thing is that he didn’t allow me to mother my child. That’s the only painful part.

“He took my son without my consent, he was just 4 years old when he came to the US. He was 3 when I mothered my child last. I was calling, but he wouldn’t pick up, and when he picked up, he would tell me he would call me back as he was busy, and for another 3 to 4 months, I wouldn’t get through.

“I was frustrated and depressed, but I can never show that because I knew the family I came from as my parents told us to be strong, no matter what you’re going through in life. I just went for a movie premiere and someone told me I am not here to see my son. That was how they took us to court”.
