French Band Performs P-Square’s ‘Taste The Money’ For Tinubu At State Dinner In France [Video]

A French band performed Nigerian P-Square’s hit song ‘Taste the Money’ for President Bola Tinubu at a state dinner with President Emmanuel Macron in Paris.

During Tinubu’s state visit to France on Thursday, hosted by President Emmanuel Macron, a French band surprised guests by performing P-Square’s hit Afrobeat song “Taste the Money (Testimony)”.

This performance celebrated Nigerian music and culture, showcasing its global influence and strengthening cultural ties between the two nations.

The original song, known for its themes of success and celebration, added a lively and symbolic touch to the dinner. The gesture highlighted the growing cultural connection between Nigeria and France.

Following Tinubu’s arrival in France, he and Macron exchanged pleasantries in Nigerian Pidgin on their social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

Macron shared his fond memories of interning at the French Embassy in Lagos, describing his experience as a cherished part of his connection to Nigeria.

In his response, Tinubu thanked Macron for the warm hospitality and emphasized the importance of the partnership between their nations.

Tinubu’s visit to France is focused on fostering stronger ties and exploring new opportunities for collaboration between the two countries.

“The Nigerian leader’s three-day visit, which will focus on strengthening political, economic, and cultural relations and establishing more opportunities for partnership, particularly in agriculture, security, education, health, youth engagement and employment, innovation, and energy transition, promises significant benefits for Nigeria,” his office said in a Tuesday statement.
