According to SaharaReporters, police authorities in Abuja, where Speed Darlington is being held, believe that Burna Boy’s status as a “superstar” justifies the demand for an apology.
“The police are mounting pressure on Darlington to make a video and publicly apologize to Burna Boy. They keep telling him Burna Boy is a superstar and that he (Darlington) can’t defeat Burna Boy,” an insider familiar with the situation disclosed.
On Wednesday, it was reported that Speed Darlington had been transferred from Owerri, Imo State, to Abuja, as part of what appeared to be a strategy to subject him to harsher treatment.
Sources indicated that Darlington was moved to the Force Intelligence Department (FID) under the direct oversight of Dasuki Galadanchi, the Deputy Inspector-General (DIG) in charge of FID, who has taken over the case.
KanyiDaily recalls that human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju revealed that Burna Boy was behind the incident leading to Speed Darlington’s harassment and arrest in Owerri on Tuesday.
