Wednesday, December 25, Thursday, December 26, 2024, and Wednesday, January 1, 2025, have been designated as holidays for these festivities.
This announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government.
In a statement signed by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the Minister extended warm wishes to all Nigerians.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo urged Nigerians to use the holiday season as an opportunity to reflect on the values of love, peace, and unity that Christmas represents.
He emphasized the importance of fostering harmony within families and communities and strengthening bonds across the nation.
He also encouraged citizens to remain dedicated to promoting peace, unity, and progress for the country’s development.
“The Christmas season is a good moment for both spiritual reflection and national renewal. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, let us demonstrate kindness and extend goodwill to one another, irrespective of our differences,” he stated.
The Minister reassured Nigerians of the government’s commitment to maintaining peace, security, and prosperity throughout the country.
As he wished everyone a joyful Christmas and a successful 2025, Dr. Tunji-Ojo expressed optimism about President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo believes the new year will bring a stronger economy and significant progress for the nation.
